2007 Fleming’s and Trailfinders Australian Garden

In 2007 Atkinson Pontifex was proud to play a pivotal role in the Fleming’s and Trailfinders Australian Garden display at the annual Chelsea Flower Show winning a Silver Gilt at the world’s premier gardening competition.

Designed by Mark Browning of Cycas Landscape Design the 2007 Australian Garden was a haven where time slowed down and simple pleasures could be enjoyed, evoking tranquillity, mystery and romance.

The main garden area featured a raised platform of Victorian bluestone. Built in seating and a table created an open secluded space which was surrounded by water. A large fish tank embedded in a feature wall promoted tranquillity and movement. A spectacular steel triangular pergola tied all elements together, and created curved shadows on the fractured granite pavers.

Atkinson Pontifex were responsible for general construction on the site and in his wrap up of Chelsea designer Mark Browning had this to say about them "Building contacts of mine, David Pontifex and Dean Atkinson had also jumped on for the ride and brought with them skills that rest of us could only sit back and admire."

Atkinson Pontifex experienced another successful collaboration with Mark Browning who was the landscape designer on the HIA CSR 2009 Victorian Home of the Year – Coronet Grove.
